Global health meets genomics: inequalities and politics

Scientific advances in the understanding of genetics and genomics have the potential to generate major improvements for human health. However, the translation of this technology into new medical treatments raises issues around inequality, identity and insecurity.

Here, Melissa Leach - Director at the Institute of Development Studies, Gemma Buckland-Merrett - Research Fellow at the University of Susssex Centre for Global Health Policy, and Leah Murphy - Eldis Global Health Editor, provide some reflections in the areas of genetics and genomics and global health.
