[AfricaRealities] Re: It is all about discrimination and prejudice: Didier Drogba: Charity Commission investigating player's foundation (BBC)

The charity rules in the UK is to  ensure that you put money in reserves as much as you can. Many larger charities have more money in reserves than they use for  charitable activities. So, Didier Drogba did not do anything wrong to keep money in the account. His charity is following the charity rules and how other people do in working in Africa.

Comic Relief is  raising money by using the images of misery in Africa. But that money raised does do anything to eradicate that misery.

Then they receive extra money  from DFID to work with UK African Diaspora Organisations to contribute to international development work in  Africa. That money received from DFID is then used by White British-led  larger organisations or mixed African/White  people-led organisations controlled by the White British people.

Just go to the Charity Commission's website, you will find a handful organisations led by African people  that have more than £10, 000 as annual income. In the UK, donations from the public are exclusively donated to White people-led organisations.

This is double exploitation of African people in the UK and Africa.

This is how the whole system of charities  supposed to help African people operate in  UK.

A charity run by Didier Drogba is being investigated over "serious regulatory concerns" by the Charity Commission.

The Daily Mail claimed that just £14,115 out of £1.7m donated to the Didier Drogba Foundation had gone to help causes in Africa.

Former Chelsea striker Drogba, 38, is threatening legal action and called the Mail's story "false and defamatory".

This is all about discrimination against black people by showing that they are corrupt.  The  Daily Mail has never reported about how Comic Relief uses the  money they fundraise using disturbing images about poverty and diseases in Africa, including showing on TV African children collecting eating rubbish in different parts of Africa. African people deserve respect please !

That money raised by Comic Relief is in reserves. It is used to pay international flights and hotels of Comic Relief staff and to create Jobs for British people.  The recent  Sport Relief's fundraising event has raised £56,984,007 and no one knows how much of this amount will be used to help African people (http://www.comicrelief.com/sportrelief).  The 2015 Comic Relief's fundraising event raised £99,418,831. Additionally, Comic Relief receives annually more than £20 million from DFID for UK Diaspora organisations. The large part of that funding has been channelled to UK white-led organisations. There are many UK charities run by white people who live on money fundraised to help  Africa. This a new and modern way of exploiting Africa.

Comic Relief has raised £1bn over 30-year existence and the impact of this money is not seen on the grounds in Africa.

The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.
I have loved justice and hated iniquity: therefore I die in exile.
The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.

Auteur : The African Rights Campaign.

Why US Sanctions Against Rwanda Are So Important

Why US Sanctions Against Rwanda Are So Important Author: The African Rights Campaign. London, UK Published: March 2026   Introduction When a government is accused of extrajudicial killings, mass displacement, sexual violence, human rights abuses, and the systematic pillage of another country's mineral resources, the expected response in international diplomacy is an unequivocal denial backed by evidence. Rwanda did not do that. When the United States Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) and four of its most senior commanders on 2 March 2026, Kigali's official spokesperson Yolande Makolo made a statement that diplomatic analysts will study carefully for what it conspicuously omitted. She said the sanctions were 'unjust,' that they targeted 'only one party to the peace process,' and that they 'misrepresent the reality and distort the facts.' Rwanda's government, described by Bloomb...
