A beautiful country with poor leadership
The growing dissatisfaction with President Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo has encouraged more opposition parties to stand up and express this outrage. President Kabila has shown little leadership since he has come to power though the direction of the Rwandan President Paul Kagame in 2001 after the assassination of his father former President Laruent Kabila. Laurent Kabila's assassination is another unsolved mystery in the Great Lakes Region of Africa despite the open secret that it was masterminded by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda. Despite the destabilizing presence of Rwanda in eastern Congo through their proxy force of the M23 rebel group President J. Kabila has shown no discernable leadership to stop this invasion therefore the UN had decided upon a defensive force to proactively work to end this ongoing conflict. Although, President Kabila is not allowing his army nor the UN intervention force to do their job effectively.
One such political party is the United Congolese Party (UCP) headed by Christian Malanga. Mr. Malanga was a listed as a Presidential candidate in the elections in DRC in 2011. He later ran for a seat in Congress. In November of 2011 Mr. Malanga was detained for ten days on the orders of the head of Parliament due to Malanga reporting voter fraud to the electoral commission in the DRC. He was released and returned to Kinshasa where he remained under threat. He reported the situation to the U.S. Embassy then returned to the US where his family lives. He continues to raise awareness in Washington DC and throughout the US regarding the issues facing the DRC.
United Congolese Party (UCP) Vision
Our vision:
UNITED CONGOLESE PARTY ("the UCP") is created in order to most effectively participate in the expression of the popular will, strengthen the national conscience and civic education, and democratize the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The goal of the UCP shall be to ensure that the ultimate sovereignty of the Congolese People is systematically applied in its fullest implications.
The UCP shall be inspired and animated by the elevating, transforming vision that motivated the American colonists – way back in the second half of the 18th century – to rise from obscurity, defend the battlements of liberty and then, in triumph, hearten and sustain the cause of freedom everywhere. Americans stood side by side with the heroes of historic battles for freedom and with the few remaining champions of liberty in the present.
The UCP shall affect a recovery, elaboration and continuous practical application in the Congo of the original American conception of sovereignty, a constitution, rights, representation, consent, true guiding principles of classical liberalism, and republicanism.
The UCP is a coalition of conscience and, like Martin Luther King, Jr. before us, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, we still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream, which is a truly universal dream. We have a dream that one day the Congo will rise up and live out the true meaning of the universal creed "All men are created equal".
The UCP shall support international efforts to build a better world by pursuing the achievement of the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – which range from halving extreme poverty rates to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015. These goals form a blueprint agreed to by all the world's countries and all the world's leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the worlds poorest.
The UCP shall communicate and establish good relationships with leaders of international and regional multi-governmental organizations, foreign governments and powers, and political parties and democracy movements, and enter into and sign international treaties and/or agreements that will advance democracy and freedom in the Republic, Central Africa, the African Union and around the world.
The UCP and its leaders shall offer the use of this broad platform and all of its elements to all Congolese political parties, organizations and individuals who oppose the current president, his regime and their corrupt, patrimonial system of predatory rule. We will support comprehensive plans for the freedom and elevation of all Africans. United we rise in the Congo, divided we fall.

In response to Peace Talks offered by Kabila
The offer by a dictatorship of "peace" through negotiations with the democratic opposition is, of course, rather disingenuous.
Complying with dictators, a tyrant, or any other petty ruler, is complying with evil. There is no middle ground, there is only right and wrong. The middle ground has long since been washed away and all that remains are the stark contrasts.
When the opposition is exceptionally strong and the dictatorship is genuinely threatened, the dictators may seek negotiations in order to salvage as much of their control or wealth as possible.
We all have a duty to follow our constitution and not give in to those who have committed crimes of high treason and the flagrant violation of our basic human rights. We must stand firm and united in our understanding of the tricks and ploys we see in this charade of the Kabila regime. We encourage acts of civil disobedience in saying "NO COMPLIANCE" with this dictator.
At UCP we ask that you join us in saying "No", to this national dialogue.
