Human Rights Group Wants Britain To Colonise Uganda Again The executive director, Human Rights Defenders Association (HURIDA), Gideon Tugume has Thursday appealed to the British government to take over administrative control of Uganda claiming the country is in a worrying state.
"We should not forget the huge number of people who died in Luweero, in Balomyo, in Mukula and today, many people have died due to politics," he lamented.
"As we speak, president Museveni is soon making 30 years in power and those would have been three presidents ruling this country but this cannot happen because it looks as if we were politically not ready to receive independence from the colonial masters which explain the misuse of power which we were given," he explained.
Tugume said "economically, when the British were still administering Uganda, the country was known world all over for its growth of several cash crops; coffee and cotton but these are hardly traced currently. "
He said that the government has completely mismanaged the country and the economy. "For such reasons we call upon the British government to come back and take over government until we organize ourselves."
