Hello:

Thank you keeping in step with the authentic quest for Africa Diaspora Empowerment.  It is novel.

For a change, grassroots stakeholders are speaking to  educate and engage on self-empowerment. Please find the enlightening and multi-dimensional Program with consequential and specific outcomes -  if you have not  read through.

The Indigenous Continental African Network - Diaspora Organizations - I CAN DO - was inspired to bridge the knowledge gap that excluded hometown, alumni and professional networks from the critical decision making process on empowering development.

The exclusion consequently leads to the neglect of brain gain,  capacities and potentials that Continental African organizations and experts bring to the development table. Bridging the gap is the process forward.

I CAN DO believes  the intellectual  capital, material resources of indigenous organizations and professional talents are Africa's competitive assets waiting to be fully utilized in fostering Africa's Self Reliance. We appreciate Africa's partners for the great visions they add in moving Africa forward.

The program is also a clarion call for stakeholders to mobilize and leverage civic power because it enhances outcomes.

In the final summation, there is a reason for every stakeholder to be engaged.

Once more, we thank everyone who has made reservations. It helps in organizing and upholding high standards you expect. Some committed persons expressed difficulties in making reservations and called in to have their names on the reserved list. Here is the link again: Reserve

For those who cannot attend and due to capacity limitation, we will share the outcomes.

God Bless You and Your Loved Ones.
 Have  Pleasant Weekend.

From the I CAN DO Team

May God Bless You

How Rwanda Got It Wrong: The Moral Cost of Profiting from Congo's Suffering.

Introduction. At the 20th Umushyikirano National Dialogue Council in Kigali in February 2026, President Paul Kagame publicly stated that it is acceptable for minerals originating in the Democratic Republic of Congo to pass through Rwanda and be sold internationally. Whilst defending Rwanda's ambitions to become a mineral processing hub, he likened this practice to passengers travelling through Kigali airport en route to other destinations, arguing that whilst wealthy countries benefit most from this trade, Rwanda's participation is normal and justified. However, this framing fundamentally misrepresents a deeply troubling reality: the minerals in question are not legitimately transiting through Rwanda as part of normal trade, but are being extracted under conditions of conflict, violence, and mass suffering imposed by Rwandan-backed forces. The distinction between legitimate cross-border trade and the current situation cannot be overstated. Cross-border commerce between Rwan...
